Plant for PV production under the Spanish sun

When the DECKER fitters traveled to Puertollano, around 250 km south of Madrid, to assemble and commission a silicon etching plant, a temperature of 38° C awaited them in the halls. The DECKER plant purifies silicon: the raw material is used to manufacture solar cells, a step for Europe on the way to becoming more self-sufficient in green energy.

The system had already been sent to Spain in 2019, but the coronavirus pandemic did not allow for earlier installation. During the assembly phase, which lasted just six weeks, the entire DECKER assembly team showed full commitment despite the heat. Managing Director Bernhard Hilliges praised the team for the fast, efficient installation and commissioning of the system.
