More space for production options

USA, Poland, India, Austria, Sweden, Germany…: Customers, suppliers and interested parties from numerous countries met at the DECKER Anlagenbau stand at SurfaceTechnology in Stuttgart. The specialists for special plant construction, automation and plant conversions have been in high demand on the market for decades — and have therefore now expanded considerably: More space, more production options, additional expertise, deeper added value and therefore a larger portfolio are now united under the green brand.

Fully automated and integrated system concepts

The trend in the industry is towards fully automated system concepts with loading and unloading, robot loading and other intelligent systems. DECKER has its finger on the pulse of the times:

In Berching, Bavaria, the successful company expanded its production area in 2023 and significantly extended and modernized its machinery: Cranes, welding shop, lathes and milling machines as well as a plastics metalworking shop have been renewed or added. „This gives us even more legroom,“ says Managing Director Bernhard Hilliges. His 50 or so employees also need this — for large-scale projects such as the huge zinc-nickel plant that DECKER is currently building for an automotive supplier in Eastern Europe. The project has a high seven-figure volume and is scheduled to go into operation in March 2025 — as one of the largest of its kind in Europe.

The time windows at the customer’s premises are always tight — system assembly usually takes place during ongoing operations. This is also the case with the expansion of an absolute key system from a major German manufacturer: A large proportion of all spark plugs sold worldwide pass through here, and the DECKER experts modernize them on site („on the run“) from 1 December, taking advantage of the holidays just in time. In order to guarantee maximum safety for the customer for such critical requirements, the DECKER fitters can set up new systems or components in advance in their new, larger domicile and put them through their paces in the factory.

Markets in Europe, Asia and the USA

This is also appreciated by long-standing customers — as was demonstrated by the four-strong DECKER team at the SurfaceTechnology trade fair. This year’s trade fair once again delivered everything that was expected in terms of industry networking, exchange and making new contacts.

Internationality is the trump card — DECKER systems provide reliable service not only throughout Europe but also worldwide. „Durability, optimization to specific customer requirements, upgrade and conversion options are the hallmarks of our systems — that’s what we stand for in all markets at home and abroad,“ says Hilliges. For the employees, this means that no two days are the same, but every day brings exciting tasks.
