Silicon etching plant for solar power

When the DECKER fitters travelled to Puertollano, about 250 km south of Madrid, for the assembly and commissioning of a silicon etching plant, a temperature of 38° C awaited them in the halls. The DECKER plant purifies silicon: the raw material is used for the production of solar cells, a step for Europe on the way to more self-sufficiency with green energy. The plant was already sent to Spain in 2019, but the Corona pandemic did not allow for earlier assembly. During the installation phase, which lasted only six weeks, the entire DECKER installation team showed full commitment despite the heat. Managing Director Bernhard Hilliges praised the team for the fast, efficient assembly and commissioning of the plant.
